We got our Googong on. We went Googong. Yup, I travelled all the way South into NSW territory to tour this recently built, stunning home that features our Yorkelee Prints.

Ok ok, so Googong is only 30 mins from our studio, but hey I did cross a border right! This is one of my fave new builds in Canberra, sophisticated style with attention to detail on every finish selection.

This beautiful 4 bedroom home took roughly 14 months to complete from start to finish, but boy was it worth it!

The first thing you notice when walking in is;

1. How much natural light this house has
2. The attention to detail that is consistent through the entire house

Every detail in this build has been considered, from the feature bulk head in the kitchen to the massive glass windows in the living area that open the entire house up to receive warmth from the sun in winter & doors to let the cool breeze in during summer.

I love this house because it is a perfect example of building and styling with purpose, keeping the end goal in mind. This young family chose to live slightly out of Canberra so they could build their dream home, select finishes that reflect their own individual style, without it costing them a fortune. 

It just proves that planning and making good choices when selecting your location, builder and design makes all the difference. In the end you have to decide on your budget and what is important to you.... then make an informed decision and plan about what you're going to spend money on and what you can do without. 

Mel & Johns house was created to house their young family, but also as a representation of their own style and creativity. They chose to spend more money on features such as the kitchen, bathrooms, higher ceilings and ceiling detail. They have kept a minimal style, which works perfectly with the finishes they have selected. The house has such a cool but homely, welcoming vibe.
